Gamifying Climate Policy

Involvement: 

  • Co-facilitated an online workshop with participants from across 5 ASEAN countries.

  • Participants experienced inquiry-based learning through a game format and supporting discussion and reflection activities. 

  • Participants learnt more about the different climate policy options and the potential advantages and trade-offs involved in the implementation of these options.

2023 National Youth Council OSLP - Getting to Zero Workshop

Involvement: 

  • Conducted a workshop on gamification as an effective form of science/climate communication for the Our Singapore Leadership Programme (OSLP) organised by the National Youth Council (NYC).

  • Participants included over 50 high-potential young Singaporean leaders who champion national issues and social/ community causes. 

2022 NUS Youth Environment Camp - Getting to Zero Workshop

Involvement: 

  • Played a leading role in the planning and execution of a workshop for local and overseas youth delegates at the 2022 NUS Youth Environment Camp.

  • Delegates learnt to appreciate the use of game design as an approach to science and policy communication, and gained insights on how to engage with power.

2022 Energy CoLab Community Conference - Human Library

Involvement: 

  • Shared about the role of education in engaging and empowering youth in issues related to sustainability.

  • Facilitated discussion among youth participants about the opportunities, challenges and key considerations when seeking potential career pathways towards building the future of energy.

2024 Redesigning Pedagogy International Conference (RPIC)

Involvement: 

  • Conducted a workshop at the 2024 Redesigning Pedagogy International Conference (RPIC), a flagship conference hosted by the National Institute of Education (NIE).

  • Participants were equipped with practical strategies to design active, technology-enhanced lessons that encourage the co-construction of knowledge and promote student autonomy. 

2023 STEM Teacher FeST - Gamification & Learning for Sustainable Development

Involvement: 

  • Shared insights on effective gamification in enhancing learning for sustainable development to Science teacher participants at the STEM Teacher FeST 2023 organised by Science Centre Singapore.

Involvement: 

  • Designed and executed the Secondary 2 Transport Response to Geographical Issue facilitated by ArcGIS StoryMaps.

  • Shared insights from the design and execution process with teacher participants.

2022 Social Studies Fest 

Involvement: 

  • Co-designed and executed the Secondary 3 Social Studies Issue Investigation (SSII) Package guided by e-Pedagogy.

  • Presented findings with teacher participants at the 2022 Social Studies Fest organised by the Social Studies Chapter of the Academy of Singapore Teachers (AST).

Involvement: 

  • Co-designer of Getting to Zero, a card game designed to help players develop an understanding of how to navigate an increasingly carbon-constrained world.

  • Shared insights from the design and execution process with teacher participants at the Geography Symposium 2021.

  • Explored the possibilities of VR in the teaching & learning of the Humanities. Looked into the meaningful integration of technology in designing learning experiences and the alignment of learning experiences to the Active Learning Processes.

Involvement: 

  • Curated resources related to ASEAN affairs and engaged students in discussions to help them make meaning of the issues faced by the region.

  • Honed students' analytical skills as they explored the contemporary issues and longstanding challenges faced by ASEAN.

  • Mentored students in preparing their final product shared at the ASEAN Symposium 2022.
